Born in India in 1950, I was brought up and educated in Glasgow, Scotland from 1955. 
 
Degrees:
  • MBChB in 1974 Glasgow University, Scotland, with distinctions in 1969 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and the David Livingstone Prize in Biology, and from 1969-1974 Merit Certificates in Clinical Subjects.
  • MRCGP in the UK 1984.
  • Residency in Psychiatry from 1991-1995 at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Chief Resident in that program in 1994. 

 

Experience:

  • Internships from 1974-1976, in Scotland and Newfoundland
  • Family Practice (with some anaesthesia) from 1975-1979 in Englehart, Ontario, and then in BC and Scotland from 1979-1991.
  •  Family practice with a First Nations Band in Alert Bay 1980.
  • President of Medical Staff at Riverview Hospital, Coquitlam BC, Canada 1989-1991.
  • Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry since 2000 at the University of British Columbia, Canada.
  • Medico-legal work and disabilty claims experience since 2000.
  • I teach international medical graduates who are striving to get a medical licence in Canada.
